The first day of the LOTTO Strzegom Horse Trials 2025 has concluded, marking the start of an exciting week of top-level eventing at the Morawa Hippodrome. Riders from across the globe have gathered for one of the season’s most important fixtures, and from the first competition, the standard has been impressively high.

Thursday's schedule was dominated by dressage, a phase of particular importance for Polish riders competing in the National Championships for Juniors and Young Riders. In the CCIJ2*, Zuzanna Społowicz riding Bankier delivered the strongest performance, continuing her remarkable record after winning the national junior title in both 2023 and 2024. In the CCIY3* division, part of the Polish Young Riders Championship, Weronika Król and her 10-year-old gelding Chinuk R secured a solid third place, putting her in a promising position going into the next phases.

The international classes also saw familiar names topping the leaderboard. In the CCI2*, German superstar and multi-medalist Ingrid Klimke claimed victory aboard Candy 851, reinforcing her reputation as one of the sport’s most accomplished athletes. Fellow German Kai Rüder followed closely behind in second, while Lara De Liedekerke-Meier of Belgium took third with Helios, continuing her consistent form on the international stage.

Germany and Belgium showed strong overall performances throughout the day. In the CCIY3*, Germany’s Emily Johanna Wolfschmitt took the win, with Lander Van Den Broeck of Belgium securing second-further underlining the strength of both nations.

However, the Polish team has also made its mark, showing both depth and strong preparation across the board. With solid early results, local riders are positioning themselves well for the challenges ahead.

Friday will bring a new level of intensity as the dressage phase of the FEI Nations Cup gets underway. For Polish competitors, these performances will also count toward the Senior National Championship standings-setting the stage for a closely contested fight for national honors.
